Speed of Light Years- What does E = if not MC2?

It seems like this year has gone by quickly, despite the fact that Einstein’s theory is now questionable. We wish he’d worked more on the speed of economic recovery instead of light. Looking back on our posts, we are disappointed to have to continue writing about promotional advertising in a tight economy. So, maybe we’ll talk about advertising choices and new confusion. Although there are many more media places to advertise, we’d be curious to know if anyone is using Facebook or Twitter to make business purchases.
Please send us any thoughts on that. Meanwhile, we’ll keep trying to get noticed at the old website.

Number 1 Fan?

I have a neighbor who doesn’t believe in global warming. He’s been very quiet this summer. One of Accent Promotions most popular items for summer is our custom hand fans.

Not Visible

Although it is finally Springtime, it seems like it’s been a long, cold winter both with the outside temperature and the temperature of business climate this year. We tried to increase our internet business by using a company called Visible.net. We have to tell you that well after the six months they said it would take, we have yet to have one new customer from their efforts and a lot of our money. They said this blog and the video they made would help get more business. We just want to warn anyone that reads this blog, that we cannot recommend this company. We wish we would have checked them out better before signing up with them.

Marketing and Promo items

I spoke at a business breakfast meeting once about the simple effectiveness of promotional items. The ancient tradition of gift giving is what I consider the underlying basic principle of “gimme” items. Everyone likes to receive a gift for seemingly no particular reason. Even movie stars at the Academy Awards mention the “goodie basket” or “swag” they receive. For businesses, giving away items is seen as a gesture of goodwill towards potential customers. Although, the custom imprinted item may not always be perceived as an expensive item, that does not mean that it won’t be kept & used. Does the subconscious mind retain the name imprinted on the items? Apparently the government thinks so, since they have restricted imprinted items that can be displayed in doctors’ offices. With the Boomers aging one of the items that has retained popularity throughout the years is the jar gripper. They are available in many new & amazing shapes and are an inexpensive promotional product that will be kept & used! These are a giveaway item for home healthcare or therapy rehab businesses. We have many items that can be cost-effective marketing tools for increasing customer perception of any business.

Hasta la Vista 2009!

This has sure seemed like a long year! With all the unemployment and budget cuts, we appreciate all of our long-standing customers continuing to order from us!
What makes a business successful enough to withstand bad years? First of all, it’s important to enjoy what you do. It’s easy to tell if somebody likes their job. We try to give all our customer personalized customer service. We ask questions about their business. Who are their customers? What are they using the promotional products for? How much do they want to spend? It is important that our customers feel good about the item they are giving out that has their name on it – and represents their company. It seems like more people notice the “gimme” items now, so they have good ideas about what imprinted items might work for them. We are excited about the new year and all of our new items are coming in now. We’ll be bringing some new ideas after we attend our big supplier show.

Tradeshow Strategy- Attention-Getting Marketing

Despite the economy, businesses know it is important to attend tradeshows. Some are very costly to have a booth space. To maximize the investment of your company’s appearance, it is important to be memorable. To stand out in a very large group of competition is difficult. The best way to be remembered is to give out a business promotional item that is attractive and useful. You want your prospective customers to be able to find your contact information long after the convention when they decide they need your services. Of course, since you’ve already spent a lot on the booth space and getting to the convention, budget for the giveaway item becomes an issue. If you are going to be attending several tradeshows, it is best to order the maximum quantity you think you will need. Another consideration is if you can use the item to promote awareness of your business at local community events.
So, what is a good item you can get a lot of – for a reasonable cost- AND be distinctive?

We are partial to light-up items. Most people will always be attracted to an item that lights up. We have many shapes of light-up buttons. These can be used for walkers or joggers at night. Light up pens are just plain fun. We have many colors & styles.

We also like to throw things at each other at tradeshows. Light-up balls are great. We’ve got a great assortment of colors of these too. We also like tossing rockets. And all of them will get you a lot of attention at a tradeshow. An old question in sales training was “Would you buy a potential customer a cup of coffee?” With today’s prices, a cup of coffee could be $3.00. The last time I went hunting for camo

It’s hunting season and lots of grown men go hide up in tree to shoot at something. I’m sure there are some women who enjoy hunting. I have just never met any. I have, however, met a few men who have fallen out of tree stands & broken legs, ankles & other bones. The last time I went hunting it was for something called a grouse. My boyfriend at the time decided that I would be the dog. I was to go ahead of him to flush the hiding bird off the ground into the air, so he could shoot it. Let’s just say I failed at being a dog. I am continually surprised at the popularity of camouflage.

Caps, mugs, mousepads, can holders (or koozies as we call them in the South) and now water bottles. These items make great giveaway items at trade shows if men are your target audience.

I did have a great pheasant recipe, but haven’t ever understood the joys of deer jerky. And I enjoyed walking around in the woods, but didn’t feel the need to shoot anything. Maybe someone could explain it to me.

One promotional item that continues to evolve is the USB drive or memory or flash stick. They are now available in custom shapes. Of course, we have the different sizes of memory.
